Have you ever thought to yourself, ‘What is Hobby Lobby thinking when they display Christmas décor in 100° weather in the middle of summer?!?”

Retailers are like little picnic ants and march to the beat of a different drum. A boutique’s drum beat is loud and clear this time of year boosting fall colors. We are no different at All About You. The store has an array of gold and orange color tones throughout the store with horns of plenty, pumpkins, and fall leaves. And, in a flash, the color tones will turn into red and green with Christmas trees beautifully decorated for all to admire.

We just got back from Dallas Apparel Market and have placed orders for “Spring 2010” apparel, jewelry, shoes, and perfume. Yes, you read right, “Spring”. We are very proud of all our collections we display storewide, but we are extremely excited on several new lines we will begin to offer, i.e., Born shoes, and the perfume lines of Juicy Couture, Vera Wang, Burberry, Ed Hardy, and Betsy Johnson.

School is next week! Hug and kiss your kids more this week, then pray for their teachers. Teachers are saints and work miracles with our precious children no matter how young or old. All About You extends a good luck wish to all the students, parents, and teachers for a successful 2009-2010 school year.

School Days

How does the summer come and go soooooooo fast? We are sure every child that is school age has asked this question in their little heads, because they know school is just right around the corner…… August 24th for Barbers Hill kids!

We are gearing up for school by stocking the store with Miss Me and Lucky Brand jeans and Ed Hardy clothing for girls that like to look hip and cool. We have expanded this area in the store, so come by and have a look see!

And, just for your information, certain school supply items will be tax free during the “Tax Free Weekend” (We’re thinking that begins Friday, August 21st – hope that is a correct date?!?) We can also help you here because we carry a variety of Vera Bradley items like binders, pencils, pens, journals, file folders, just to name a few.

Since we are on the subject of going back to school, we have two young ladies that always come to our rescue in the summer to pitch in and help. These girls, Alexa and Alison, will be leaving us in several weeks to return to their college studies. Thanks Alexa & Alison for your help and good luck in college this coming school year. We also have two 2009 Barbers Hill high school graduates, Ashton and Caroline that will be starting college, but they love us so much they will continue to work at All About You. (Oops I forgot, Caroline has a ½ semester up on Ashton, she was an early high school graduate.)

Good luck to all you parents during your school shopping madness. But, the beat goes on and before each of us can blink an eye, we will be preparing for Thanksgiving and Christmas … what a scary thought!
